Forschungsinteresse

My interests are mainly applied seaweed research, including cultivation, valorization/sustainable use of marine macroalgae, aquaculture technology for land-based seaweed cultivation, optimization of functionality, bioremediation. Currently I am focusing on macroalgae cultivation, optimization, and scale-up to produce biomass for plastic-free fast food packaging within the Mak-Pak Scale-Up and NOVAFOODIES projects. I also have expertise in ecophysiology, ocean acidification and calcification (particularly in the beautiful rhodolith beds that occur all over the world).
