Forschungsinteresse

Due to increasing pressure by climate change on ecosystems and humanity, I have developed interest in focusing my research on potential carbon dioxide removal techniques and renewable resources for fossil fuel based industries. Within my PhD thesis I am focusing on the Pelagic Sargassum microbiome and its role in nutrient provision, decomposition and potential use in bioethanol production. The results of this thesis will hopefully close existing knowledge gaps within the pelagic Sargassum environment and contribute to macroalgae aquafarming and processing.
