Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS)

The modern technical prerequisites in RAS aquaculture are now at a very high level and are constantly developing.

The central competence at ZAF is the optimization of existing components, the testing of new system components and transport systems and the development of new control techniques for system components. In addition, ZAF researchers develop and test concepts for the reduction of energy and water consumption or reduction or recycling of waste products in order to improve the ecological balance of RAS units.

RAS efficiency and efficacy are central goals of the Aquaculture Research team.
