Automatic Weather Station Halvfarryggen
In January 2019 an automatic weather station was installed on Halvfarryggen (71.17489°S, 6.80027°W), 690m above sea level. Together with the Søraseon to the west both hills surroud the Ekstöm Ice Shelf on which Neumayer Station is situated. The distance to Neumayer is approximately 80 km.
The station replaces the former "AWS11, Halvfarryggen" which was installed at the same spot, operated by the "Institute for Marine and Atmospheric research Utrecht (IMAU)".
