Helmholtz Graduate School for Polar and Marine Research

POLMAR PhD Program

Welcome to POLMAR!

The graduate school POLMAR offers all PhD students at the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) a structured qualification program to complement their individual research work. Participation in a structured PhD program is mandatory for all PhD students at AWI. Every new PhD student - if not already a member of another PhD program - can become part of the POLMAR graduate school, regardless of the individual research topic, the respective AWI location or the type of funding of the PhD project. Registration with the AWI PhD Office at the beginning of your PhD project work at AWI includes admission to POLMAR.
