For the last three years of your school career, you can prepare for your A-levels at the AWI. Get out of school and into polar and marine research two days a week. Together with scientists and teachers, you will prepare yourself in the subjects :
- Biology (advanced course)
- Chemistry, maths and English (as foundation courses)
for your A-class.
In all other subjects, lessons take place three days a week in the upper secondary school at the Carl von Ossietzky School Centre.
Dear students in the future E phase,
In August next year, you will be taking a big step: the move to the upper secondary school.
Perhaps you have already heard of the HIGHSEA programme, which is specially tailored for pupils interested in science?
Highsea is a programme for CvO GyO pupils who are interested in scientific topics and want to work intensively on research questions. To do this, they come to the AWI two days a week - always on Tuesdays and Thursdays - for three years. At the AWI, you then have your biology advanced course and a chemistry, maths and English basic course.
Have we piqued your interest? Then write us an email or simply give us a call!
Best regards,
Your HIGHSEA team
