The Alfred Wegener institute maintains different infrastructures to support research in remote areas. The research stations - partly maintained and used in cooperation with other international institutes: Neumayer Station III, AWIPEV Arctic-research base, Research Station Samoylov Island, Kohnen station, Dallmann-Laboratory, Drescher ice camp.
