Activated Particulate Organic Matter as Carbon Source for Denitrification
The AcOMaCS Project aims to improve the ecological and economic efficiency of recirculating aquaculture systems by recycling particulate wastes for use in denitrification. Large particulate matter, physically filtere dout of the water will be ozone-treated and then used as a carbon source in the RAS system denitrifictaion filter.
The Aquaculture Research Group at AWI is operating this project together with Ratz Aqua & Polymer Tech and the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences.
