International Science Program for Integrative Research in Earth Systems
We are always looking for excellent graduates from around the world to join our passion for marine and polar research.
The call for applications for 2024 has ended, the next call for applications for INSPIRES is expected to take place in 2025. Look forward to new, exciting PhD projects on our website in 2025.
Background
AWI INSPIRES was established in 2019. Each year, several early career scientists (PhD/Postdoc) positions are advertised in various research areas:
- Climate and Geoscience (atmosphere, ocean, ice and land),
- Coastal and Shelf Sea Systems,
- Terrestrial Arctic Ecosystems and Permafrost,
- Marine and Polar Life,
- Aquaculture, Bionics.
The projects are designed to support AWIs contribution to the PoF IV program "Changing Earth - Sustaining our Future".
So far, 102 PhD candidates and 18 Postdoc positions were funded.
