GelDoc
The GelDOC visualizes the extracted and amplified DNA on agarose gels. The DNA samples are loaded onto the agarose gel containing a fluorescent dye that binds to the DNA molecules. The separation of the DNA molecules is applied by an electric field that moves the negatively charged molecules through an agarose matrix. The DNA molecules will be separated by size. A size DNA standard run along with the samples provides a DNA sample size estimation. The separated DNA fragments on the gels are made visible with UV-light exposure in the GelDOC instrument.
