Greenland 2022
The field campaign took place in Aug. and Sep. 2022 on Disko Island and in Ilulissat, Greenland. Our goal is to study the current state of permafrost as part of the MOMENT (Die Permafrostforschung auf dem Weg zur integrierten Beobachtung und MOdellierung des MEthaNhaushalts von ÖkosysThemen) project. The project runs in collaboration with GFZ, University of Hamburg, University of Cologne and University of Hannover. The 360° images show the field work that we carried out at the study sites. In Ilulissat we installed subsidence sticks that help identify to what extent the ground is sinking down or lifting up. In the Blæsedalen Valley on Disko Island we collected soil samples, installed soil temperature and moisture sensors and gathered albedo data and drone images.
