Honour for Professor Hans-Wolfgang Hubberten

First non-Russian member of the Academy of Science of the Republic of Sakha

Professor Hans-Wolfgang Hubberten recently received an extraordinary honour for his past achievements and long years of promoting Russian-German scientific collaboration.

The Scientist from AWI-Potsdam received the induction as the first non-Russian member of the Academy of Science of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). On 19 June 2015 he was officially awarded his membership certificate by Academy Vice-President Anatoli I. Gogolev. Hubberten is head of the Periglacial Research section at the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) in Potsdam and had accompanied the AWI Directorate on their visit to our Siberian partner institutions.
