AWI directorate speaks on international Arctic conference

Today the director of the Alfred Wegener Institute Professor Karin Lochte and Dr Uwe Nixdorf, Vice Director and head of AWI logistics, give presentations in the Country Session Germany at the Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavik.

Arctic Circle Assembly is an excellent forum which was initiated by the Icelandic President Ragnar Grimsson. All relevant Arctic actors are participating. This year, Germany was invited to an official country presentation which takes place on today's opening day. The topics of Karin Lochte and Uwe Nixdorf are international cooperations of Germany in the Arctic research, research platforms and observation data. The German delegation is headed by State Secretary Uwe Beckmeyer.
