Fotoausstellung: INTO THE ICE – die MOSAiC-Expedition in Bildern
The photo exhibition "INTO THE ICE - the MOSAiC expedition in pictures" will be shown at the Ruhestein National Park Centre in the Black Forest National Park from 1 April to 2 November 2025. It presents photographs from the MOSAiC expedition, the largest Arctic expedition in history, which was led by the Alfred Wegener Institute.
The exhibition focuses on the work and life of the researchers on board the research icebreaker POLARSTERN, which drifted through the frozen ocean for a year. On display are photographs by Esther Horvath, Lianna Nixon, Jan Rohde, Steffen Graupner, Mario Hoppmann and Michael Gutsche, which capture the challenges and beauty of the Arctic.
The exhibition is a co-operation between the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI), the Leibniz Research Museums Action Plan and the German Maritime Museum, Leibniz Institute of Maritime History (DSM).
Admission is free.
